Disney and LucasFilm have unveiled brand new character posters from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which hits U.S. theaters December 16 in 3D, RealD 3D, and IMAX 3D. These posters feature characters such as Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen), K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), with Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen) and Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker). We also have 21 new Topps trading card photos which features the main characters plus a number of Stormtroopers, Jedha pilgrims, rebel pilots, and much more.
Disney debuted these new posters, while the trading cards arrived courtesy of the Topps Star Wars Card Trader app. The trading cards also include another look at one of the Death Troopers, along with a Shore Trooper, Imperial Forces soldiers, Imperial Tank Commanders and a Rebel Lookout. What’s interesting about the character posters is that there are blueprints over each character’s face, which are likely the Death Star plans that set the plot in motion.

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

Gareth Edwards directs Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. The director worked from a script written by Gary Whitta and Chris Weitz. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens in U.S. theaters on December 16, 2016, going up against Warner Bros.’ Collateral Beauty.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be the first of three standalone movies that have been confirmed from Disney and LucasFim thus far. The second will focus on a young Han Solo, set before A New Hope, which stars Alden Ehrenreich as the beloved smuggler, which is set to hit theaters on May 25, 2018. The third spin-off is believed to center on Boba Fett, which is expected to hit theaters in 2020. There have been reports that Disney wants to release one new Star Wars movie per year, indefinitely. Take a look at these new Rogue One posters and Topps trading card photos, as we inch closer and closer to the December 16, 2016 release date.
